17 million children and 5 million seniors are food insecure in America.

Food insecurity is defined as: a family's resources are so limited to buy food that they are running  out of food reducing the quality of food that their family eats, feeding their children unbalanced diets, or skipping meals so their children can eat.
15.8% of Texans are food insecure.

5.7% of Texans experience hunger on a regular basis - more than one million people.
The rate of children living in  poverty in Texas is 22.5% and in Bexar County, the rate is 23.5%.

Three million Texans, or one in eight, including 1.2 million children were forced to visit a soup kitchen or food pantry  to feed themselves in 2009.

Our food pantry is a Christian based food Ministry, which all food is given away free of charge. It is operated by dedicated volunteers that collect surplus goods from food suppliers and food banks throughout San Antonio. The collected goods are then brought to our church. Then redistributed every other saturday from 10:00am to 12:00pm. We are supported through the prayers and financial donations of caring individuals. Please visit our calender if you or someone you know would like to participate.
